Video | Interview: Ex-Amon Amarth member Fredrik Andersson on the launch of Fimbul Winter
Fimbul Winter’s guitarist Fredrik Andersson swung by Roppongi Rocks headquarters in Tokyo to sit down with Stefan Nilsson for a chat. The two Swedes talked about the new band, its fab debut EP, playing guitar versus playing drums, the band’s future plans and much more. Watch the interview in the video below.
Fredrik Andersson made a name for himself as the hard-hitting drummer for Amon Amarth. Now, he is the guitarist for melodic death metal band Fimbul Winter. Three former Amon Amarth members, Niko Kaukinen (drums), Fredrik Andersson (guitar) and Anders Biazzi (guitar), are joined in the band by Australian vocalist Clint Williams. The band released its debut EP “What Once Was” in November 2025.
Fredrik currently also plays drums in A Canorous Quintet. Additionally, his career has seen him perform with acts such as Therion, Netherbird, Vananidr and Kvaen.
