Crucified Barbara rocked Skogsröjet
Reunited Swedish hard rockers Crucified Barbara were one of the highlights of the Skogsröjet festival.

Crucified Barbara was formed in Sweden in 1998. They released four studio albums between 2005 and 2014. The band called it quits in 2016. In August 2024, Mia “Coldheart” Karlsson (vocals and guitar), Klara “Force” Rönnqvist Fors (guitar), Ida “Evileye” Stenbacka (bass) and Jannicke “Nicki Wicked” Lindström (drums) started rehearsing together with an eye on a reunion tour. In October 2024, they announced they would reunite for some live gigs in the summer of 2025.
At Skogsröjet, a terrific Swedish rock festival out in the sticks, the band played songs from all four of their albums. The set included favourites such as “Rock Me Like the Devil”, “My Heart Is Black”, “In Distortion We Trust”, “Sex Action”, “The Ghost Inside” and “The Crucifier”. The reunion was as great as we had hoped. The band members are hungry again.
Mia Karlsson was on form and on fire. Her characteristic voice, fine guitar playing and stage moves drive this band. You can see it in her eyes and facial expressions. She’s back! In 2016, she stopped playing music. She had given it her all and had run out of energy. In recent years, she has been a session player with acts such as The Gems and Donna Cannone, as well as doing solo singer-songwriter shows (and a terrific solo album). That has seemingly been a great way back to wanting to perform music again. On stage with her bandmates in Crucified Barbara, you could see the fire in her eyes again. Her bandmates were also up to the challenge and delivered like it’s nobody’s business. This band is back. And they are still relevant!
What a comeback by a great band! Now let’s see where this reunited band will go from here. They have already announced a few more shows. Hopefully, these four ladies will now start writing new music so that album number five will be with us in 2026.
