When Swedish bassist Ken Sandin returned to the Skogsröjet festival in Sweden – to perform an acoustic set of Europe songs with Kee Marcello and Jakob Samuel – Roppongi Rocks’ Stefan Nilsson had a backstage chat with him before the gig. Watch the interview in the video below.
In the interview, Ken Sandin talks about performing with Kee Marcello (Europe, Easy Action), backing legendary singers, his three stints with Swedish Erotica, working on his own music and much more.
Ken is a reliable go-to musician when artists need a solid bassist in the studio or to back them up on stage. He first made a name for himself in the 1980s with the Gothenburg bands Swedish Erotica and Alien. Since then, he has played with many bands, including Transport League, TimeCode Alpha and Sonic Desolution. Among the many well-known artists he has worked with are Kee Marcello, Joe Lynn Turner, Alannah Myles, Bobby Kimball, Bill Champlin, Fergie Frederiksen, Steve Augeri, Eric Martin and Graham Bonnet.
